Whitley Bay 11 April 2010
It's a long way, to Whitley Bay!
It's a long way, to gooooo!
It's a long way, to Whitley Bay!
To the darkest rink I knooowwww!
I can't be bothered to write any more. However, I bet it feels even longer if you need the toilet and people keep making 'wooosshhiing' noises. Well done Chic! We even had an extra bench coach for the trip - normally coaches try and get out of road trips to Whitley Bay (things seem like such a good idea after a few beers don't they!?) Anyway, the extra coaching staff was much appreciated.
A couple of shaky moments early on, as Vipers struggled to find their feet and adjust to the lighting (or lack thereof). Whitley Bay managed to find the back of the net twice in the first couple of minutes. However, heads were kept high, and Vipers managed to keep the Bay at Bay (!) for the remainder of the game.
Offensively Julia was the pick of the bunch. Her hat-trick was well deserved, and despite a few alleged moments of gooning, she was always a firm favourite for the MOM award.
There was no post-game press conference. Coach JS was boycotting the media due to some horrific mid-week allegations about a theft at the ice rink.
