For the last time this season, Vipers took on Sheffield B. Having managed 3 wins already this season against this team, Vipers travelled to Ice Sheffield determined to see off the challenge, and maintain the pressure on the current leaders Flintshire at the top of the table. I forgot to write the match report after the game - and time has passed by, so I have limited recall of what happened. So, in summary (of the bits I do remember):

Lucy scored a goal that wasn't reported on the official match stats, 'cos Anna unknowingly confused the referee. (Sorry!)
We were 4-0 up at the end of the first.
We had a poor first period and got a 'talking-to' by Coach JS
We scored 1 goal in each of the second and third periods.
Maya got her fourth shut-out of the season.
Cookie got sweeties for her Man-of-the-Match award. (How appropriate!)
Glossy continued to perfect the art of pinching from the point.
Laura U scored her first goal since her return.
Frenchy kept getting knocked over, and bounced straight back up!
Vipers played 3 lines of offense.
We beat Sheffied again!
We gave Andy a Vipers' welcome on the way home.
Laura's mum's cookies are immense!

The 6-0 victory means that Vipers are still with a chance of winning the league if they perform against Flintshire. In the post-game conference Coach JS said that he was pleased with the win, but was already now looking ahead to the 2 crucial games against Flintshire. The title is still theirs for the taking!
